Welcome to Alzheimer’s Disease Caregiver!

Welcome to my new blog which is dedicated to caregivers of loved ones suffering from Alzheimer’s disease.  My mom was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease about a year ago.  She is in the early to moderate stage of the disease, and lives with me, my husband, and our two children.

On December 31, 2008 I started a blog called Caregiving Daughter at Today.com.  Blogging was completely new to me, but I thought it would be a great way for me to vent and get some feelings out.  Once I started blogging, I was amazed at how many other people out there were affected by Alzheimer’s and other dementia causing illnesses.

I learned a lot and made a lot of good friends through Today.com.  After awhile I decided I would try to venture out on my own with a self-hosted blog.  I liked the idea of having my own blog that I would have complete control over.

With this blog, I hope to be able to reach as many Alzheimer’s disease caregivers as I can to share information and support.  No matter if Alzheimer’s has affected you in the past, present, or you fear it will in the future, this blog is for you.
